A venue that I wouldn’t recommend – the GMs were poor, one game was broken, one game had a horrible, horrible puzzle and the third game was enjoyable but nothing special. Note that this is a different venue to Escape Room Warsaw which has far better games even though the two brands are linked.
A roundup of all the games we played in Amsterdam including at Questomatica, Sherlocked, Save Amsterdam, Escape World, Boom Chicago, MyEscape.Club, Logiclocks and Locked.Amsterdam. 18 games and not one of them was bad – this may be the city with the highest average quality of all that I’ve played.
A short roundup of three games we played in Breda (in the south of the Netherlands). None were amazing but, if you’re in the area, I’d point you at the Mail Room as the best of the group.
A triumvirate of games where you had to save Amsterdam from various disasters. Three solid rooms with very different feels to each. Black Hole was our favourite with a great sense of exploration and discovery and plenty of interesting puzzles.
One of the older Amsterdam escape rooms but still high quality. Great story and immersion, good progression and solid puzzles throughout. Definitely worth playing if you’re in the city.
The best escape rooms in Amsterdam and two of the most amazing experiences I’ve had. They might be light on puzzles and occasionally have frustrating moments but the overall experiences were phenomenal.
A review of the two games at MyEscape.Club. Back to the USSR is very much targeted at relative beginners but did its job well enough to make it still enjoyable for small groups of enthusiasts. Judgement Day delivered a true mission of a game which would work incredibly well for small groups of enthusiasts.
Two games that are highly rated by enthusiasts but felt a little flat to me. Arcade Invasion had the potential for being brilliant but lacked direction and we encountered a real issue with the hinting. Wake up! didn’t have quite as much potential but delivered better. Both games are well worth a visit when you’re in Amsterdam though.
Two more great Amsterdam games. Escape through Time was an excellent experience that very much felt on the theatrical end of escape rooms. Locked.Amsterdam was was a hard mission in a beautiful environment although at times those hard puzzles required a bit of a stretch.
A round up of the six games we played across two Escape World venues in Amsterdam. Good theming, logical puzzles and fun hosts. Definitely a great option if you’re looking to play lots of games in one location.
