Escapologic: Cryptic

A game which had a real sense of exploration as well as a stand out puzzle that got our whole team involved. A disappointing dearth of light sources left us wandering in the dark at times but as the game progressed that became less of an issue.

Escapologic: Curio

The single most impressive moment I’ve ever experienced in an escape room combined with obvious progress, good puzzles, a beautiful set and, that most intangible of things, “flow”, made this one of my all time favourite escape rooms.

Escapologic: E.P.I. Centre

A really enjoyable game with a great centrepiece set of physical puzzles. It’s the sort of game where experiences can vary wildly both between different teams but also within individual teams so I’d recommend reading the review and going in with your eyes open.

Houdini's Escape Room: Escape from Alcatraz

An well rounded experience from the moment you enter the shop to the moment you walk out the door. A tough start for novices but good plenty of good puzzles. Let down a bit by a couple of awkward moments in the game.

ClueCapers: Rescue from Winchokey

A delightfully quirky experience that takes the Prison Break theme and turns it on its head. Aside from one or two weak puzzles there were strong solutions throughout with an emphasis on originality. I suspect experienced players are likely to particularly enjoy this unusual game.

Escapologic: 13utcher

A must do for fans of scare attraction. If you’re of a particularly nervous disposition then I’d stay well clear – the puzzle pay off isn’t worth the stress you’ll go through during the game. For those of us in between, I think it’s the sort of game that you’ll like appreciate more than enjoy – and as an enthusiast that was more than enough.

Escapologic: Howitz

A search heavy room that I was on the verge of disliking when it took a turn and started to become much more puzzly. Another room where different people on the same team can have very different experiences so think carefully about who you want to take on which challenges.

Enigma Escape: The Breakout

A game full of contrasts. Great centrepiece technology that should have been awesome but was let down by some usability issues. A huge centrepiece puzzle that was plain tedious and resulted in people missing parts of the games and, finally, where their first game took pride in being “real”, this time round several of the puzzles felt contrived.

- Overall rating:
Clue Adventures: The Book of Secrets

A game that literally puts some magic back into escape rooms. This is a tough escape room with lots of puzzles and plenty of challenge – possibly too much for a lot of teams. Take a biggish group along and keep your focus and you’ll have plenty of fun.

Trapped In: Crazy Clown's Carnival

A small, well themed game with a shortage of true puzzles and an emphasis on searching, observation and, in particular, skill challenges. The finale is extended and likely to be something that teams love or loathe.
