I’ve got a bunch of things backed up (Escape Plan visit, City Dash, and a mini “escape room” type thing I created for my children), four escape rooms booked for this weekend, and a couple of articles I wanted to write covering the treasure hunt that we ran today at work. By the time I get round to finishing them

Background Perhaps this should be entitled “How I got into escape rooms”, because, back in 2013, this was what started me on the path. I’d been tasked with organising a trip to Brussels for 120 people, and I needed to put together various activities to entertain them on the Saturday. Go karting, beer brewing and

Breakout Manchester: Virus

Outside the room It’s been a long time since I’ve headed into the centre of Manchester, and I didn’t really know what to expect. What I certainly didn’t expect to be paying nine pounds for two hours of parking. I thought things were meant to be cheap up North!?! In fairness, Breakout Manchester is located right in

Code to Exit: Blueprint/Edward Teller's Room

Outside the room I couldn’t believe my luck when I asked Mrs Logic how she’d like to spend a spare day and she suggested another escape room. Four in five days might seem excessive, but I’m on holiday, so I offer no excuses. Of course, trying to book an escape room on the day limits your

Breakout Liverpool: Classified

A very solid escape room that I’d recommend to players with some experience, particularly those who aren’t too worried about how immersive their challenges are. This time there were six of us along for the ride, so we we’d booked both the rooms that host this game.

So how have things moved on since July? Well, I did indeed visit Time Run. Tick. I also managed to escape from both of Lock’d’s rooms, which hadn’t been on the cards. Sadly, I haven’t managed to organise the Agent November outing though. It hadn’t occurred to me that they require daylight, so close early from September. The upshot

London timeline

As the number of unvisited escape rooms in London dwindles, we’re left wondering how quickly more will open to satisfy our escape room hunger. The good news is that new rooms, games and venues have been opening reasonably frequently for the last year or so. Averaging over one game a month, and in some months as many
