GR8escape York: Spy School

Old school room with pretty much everything that entails. The decoration wasn’t engaging, the puzzles were OK but not super exciting, and the story was minimal. For new players it will be fun and they won’t particularly notice the rough edges. For experienced players, I think it’s worth heading elsewhere.

GR8escape York: Space Cadet

This was a feelgood room with plenty of puzzles, some of which were reasonably challenging although it’s unlikely to win prizes for decor. It’s definitely a decent challenge – keeping our experienced team of four fully occupied for a fair chunk of the allotted time.

Can You Escape? (York): Operation H.E.R.O.

A highly structured superhero mission with some great puzzles that were slightly marred by tech failures. In spite of that, I’d still highly recommend you head along and play – I still really enjoyed it with those failures and if you’re lucky enough to avoid them then you’ll have a great time.

Can You Escape York: Operation Lone Eagle

A well structured room that can easily handle large team sizes. Puzzles are carefully set out to make the room feel as logical as possible. Just when you think things are going OK, the room’s likely to hit back and, for smaller or inexperienced teams, leave you desperately short of time. Lots of searching, a couple of physical puzzles and plenty of padlocks to get past.
