Ctrl-Alt-Esc (Margate): Detention

A feel-good game that throws you back to your childhood, from the GM introduction right through to the moment you escape the room. Plenty of enjoyable puzzles, an enjoyable setting and a clever finale to the experience. If you want ninety minutes of nostalgic fun then I can highly recommend.

Guildford Escape Rooms: Venus

The funniest game I’ve played. For that alone it deserves high praise, but alongside it they’ve got a great mission, fun puzzles and a good ending. I’d highly recommend heading along.

Bewilder Box (Bright): Judgement D.A.V.E.

A thoroughly enjoyable experience with humour, strong characters, fun sci-fi decoration and good puzzles. A room that manages to appeal to enthusiasts with stronger-than-average puzzles and first-timers with calm-inducing humour, plus a cluing system that feel like it’s just part of the experience.

Pressure Point (Ashford): The Accused

A very solid prison escape game at its core with a few twists that made it more interesting. A couple of novel puzzles, some humour and a slightly more interesting story led to us coming out on a real high.

CTRL ALT ESC (Margate): Spacescape

A high-quality game that I’d recommend playing. Fun puzzles, but the real stand-outs were the sense of exploration, the humorous interactions with a game character and an interesting start and finish.

Clockwork Escapes (Wolverhampton): Starpoint Alpha

A rough diamond of a game. The set, the mission and, above all, the humour are fantastic. A few too many padlocks, a couple of weak puzzles and, at times, a feeling that I was being walked through the game took the edge off the experience but I’d still thoroughly recommend, especially to enthusiasts.
